| OMFG.........
Today I went to get some groceries for my week stay at Hotel de Cubbage since he asked me if I could babysit his dogs and his parent's dogs too.
In the checkout line, I had a 6 pack of mac n cheeze and the conversation was something like this:
Cashierlady - "That's alot of macaroni and cheese" Me - "Yup, hope it lasts all week" Cashierlady - "Probably not with your kids" Me - /bursts into tears
THAT'S THE FIRST TIME ANYONE HAS EVER MISTAKEN ME FOR BEING OLDER!!!!!!!!! WTH
I had to run crying to my car and check my mirrors to make sure I had no wrinkles :(

| let me entertain you with my MVA nightmare, So I grab a stack of letters (proof of residence) and mosey on to the MVA and I arrive at 8:15… and I see a huge line gathering. Let me tell you, do NOT ever go to Glen Burnie. Ever.. ever.. ever. Doors open at 8:30, people start filing in, we get assigned a code depending what we are doing. I get A-13, apparently for out of state licenses and possibly other license stuff. There’s also a B and C codes. So I patiently take my seat and wait for my number to be called…. A-5… B-6… C-6… B7, C7, B8, B9, C8, B10, C9, C10… wait.. when’s the next A going to come?!... C11, A6, A7,.. Ok whew, they are starting to move… B11, C12, B12, B13, C13, A8, C14, C15, B14, C16, A9, A10, B15, C17, B16, A10, A11, C18, A12, all right! I’m next!, B17, B18, etc etc etc….. C22, B23, C23…. A-13!! I think I got the reject line. So I happily bounce up to the counter (when you’ve been sitting for over 2 hours, you’re ready to gtfo) and explain what I need. She asks for a SS card, so I pull out a passport and ask if that works. She looks at me funny and says “yes that’ll work I think”… so I rummage through my wallet and locate my SS card and give that to her. She then said I need to have 2 letters showing proof of residence, they must be bank statements, credit card statements, utility bills. So I pull out my stack of letters… and… oh no.. I only had ONE bank statement, and the rest were credit card sign up junk mail…. So she asks her supervisor if that is ok, he looks at the stack of mail and the look of despair on my face (since I had been waiting for hours) and says he’ll allow the other mail. Everything proceeding normally, she enters the information on my old drivers license into the MVA computers, asks me standard questions, and when she finally gets to the end and hits the button to finish. An error pops up. Oh no.. what went wrong… She scrolls back and says: “Oh you need to do your driving test again.” WHAT!? You’ve GOT to be kidding me… so she looks back at the dates, and notices she put my birthdate as the expiration date for my license. So she fixes that and says: “Oh you need to do your motorcycle driving test again.” Argh, I didn’t want to do that either, I’d rather do the driving! So I unhappily nod my head and inquire where to do it, she says I have to schedule a time to do it in another building. So she prints out my license and I get up and get ready to leave, she tells me to hold on and asks another person, “I want to make sure the motorcycle endorsement does NOT transfer?” The other person she asked gave her the “WTF are you talking about” look, and immediately comes over to the station and tells her that the endorsement does carry over and how the other people have no idea wtf they are talking about. She said many of the people there on the weekends work in different departments so they don’t know all the licensing rules. So after I get all that fixed, she prints another license, hands it to me and says that I better go before someone changes their mind! So I glance at my license making sure all the information they are most likely to get wrong isn’t wrong (such as my motorcycle endorsement) and I hurry out the door to my car. Lo and behold, I decide to pickup some food on Sunday… as I was walking to the car I pull out my license and read over every field… “Name, yup, birthday, yup, address yup, sex, yu… er.. F?.. wait.. F?! WTF.. OMG……” | | |
| I went to otakon, cosplayer city. Some were hawt... Some were nawt... /shudder... Naruto & Bleach were the most popular I think I saw more ninjas than I ever wanted to see. One guy dressed up as Ryuk from death note, REAL good costume, everyone was taking pictures, he even put some junx on his face to shape ryuk's face and eyes (I have no idea how he could see out of that). The guy was skinny too so the rest of his costume matched. You'd swear it was ryuk. A lot of ppl running around with "Yaoi" and stuff written on paddles and stuff... I didn't realize what that meant till the end I ran into a Yaoi stand. /me prancing around looking la la la /me hits "Yaoi" stand. Me: "La la... L.. Er.. Wtf... /stare.... D:" Best T-shirt award to the Tshirt that had Integral from 10 to 13 of 2x dx.... if you can figure out what that is... you can pat yourself on the back and realize how much of a nerd you are. | | |
| Huzzah, yes i'm alive and finally working in DC! I love my job, it keeps me busy (most of the time, no sleeping here like my old job!). I finally got a car, its far more cuter than Boloboh's funky Focus. On the other hand, I haven't been driving regularly in 3 months so I promptly got a speeding ticket.... I never get tickets on my motorcycle! Mostly because I can feel the windspeed and know how fast I am going. Light wind = barely moving Good wind = speed limit HURRICANE FORCE WIND = speeding / in a real hurricane, find shelter now! | | |
| So, on Apr. 27th, that Friday, my friends took me to pickup my bike near BWI and I followed them to their house and had dinner and hung out. 9:00 pm rolls around, and I figure I need to head back, since I'm housesitting for my friends while they are out in TX. I bid my farewells/see you tomarrows/etc and proceed to head from Columbia, MD to Severna Park, MD. Google maps shows its only 26.1 miles away! No problem! I get some quick directions from my friends and proceed on my merry way. Now, in theory, I would of gone on MD-29 North -> MD-100 East -> MD-2 South -> Severna Park. I did exactly that! Except... apparently my turn off is not on MD-2 like I thought, I ended up overshooting Severna Park and found out that MD-2 actually ends!!!
It ended somewhere in Annapolis. I realized something was wrong when I crossed a bridge I didn't recognize and found that I was on MD-50 now! In Oklahoma, you'd think: "No problem, I'll just exit the highway and circle around." But apparently there is no such easy solution here, just because you exit a highway does not garantee that you will be able to get back on! After driving in a circle in Annapolis, breaking a few traffic laws, crossing the crosswalk on a motorcycle, I U-turn around and see a sign for MD-50. I remember that MD-2 turned into MD-50 so the light bulb pops up and tells me: "hey, if you follow MD-50, it'll turn back into MD-2 again!" But what my lightbulb neglected to tell me was which one I should take? East or West!? Sooooo I end up taking MD-50 towards Washington DC. I see an exit for I-97, I take that North thinking I am right under Severna Park or MD-2. Driving on that for awhile, I'm still seeing nothing, not even an exit, so once I find an exit, I immediately switch back to I-97 South and back track to MD-50. Getting back on MD-50 West again! After driving on that for about 15 minutes, I realized I am not seeing anything familar.... but luckily, I could turn around on this. So I ended up going on MD-50 east. I figured I was too far west so I didn't go east for the full fifteen minutes thinking I passed Severna park or the exit for MD-2. I see an exit for MD-3! I think to myself: "oh 3 is close to 2, lets take that!" I take MD-3 North... nope still lost. So I end up in Odenton. I stop at a gas station, fill up and ask for directions. The guy was no help, he said he was new to the area also! Fortunately, a bunch of kids stopped to fill up their gas and I asked them where I was. They said I needed to go back to Annapolis then get on MD-50 again to find MD-2. I was like "oh no, not MD-50 again." So I followed their advice and went back to Annapolis.
After reaching Annapolis, I drove deeper into Annapolis and found the downtown area, lots of people! Huzzah! I found a parked police officer and asked him how to get back to MD-2. He told me how to find the first sign. So I took that and kept going. But I saw no more signs!!! I only saw signs for MD-495, but I kept going and ended up on a bridge again. I think it was the first bridge I took earlier, but at this point, I was so confused I couldn't tell. Sooo I backtracked again to Annapolis, flagged down another officer and he gave me more precise directions. I also asked him what time it was. He said it was 12:45 AM! Soooooooo there goes the rest of my evening.. er.. morning... I finally go across that same bridge the final time and I hit MD-2. It's about 1:00 AM and it starts POURING RAIN! So now I'm cold, wet, can't see because I'm covered in water! I pull off on another gas station to dry off my visor so I can see again, and I ask the attendant where Severna Park is. "about 3 miles north". I was so happy! After a little more riding and guessing, I finally made it back. By the time I got back, it was 1:30 AM! | | |
